The Enterprise Data Networking Products value-added distribution forms a major business unit within Spectrum. Today Spectrum is the Authorised Value-Added Distributor for Enterasys Networks Inc's Enterprise Data Networking Products for the Malaysia region.
Being a value-added distributor, Spectrum assumes responsibilities for the sales, marketing, channel management and business development role for Enterasys Networks. Enterasys has a well established network of 2nd and 3rd tier resellers in the countries where it has established a strong business & people presence.
Marketing Strategy
Marketing and branding strategies will be conducted by both the Principal and Spectrum. Spectrum is able to work or create alliances with strategic and complementary networking product vendors to create product awareness; and be able to provide customers with a broader range of product offerings and serve as a one stop centre for their needs.
Market Demands
With a value-added distribution model, Spectrum is able to assist the Principal to add value by its ability to "feel the pulse" of the market and is able to proactively react quickly to the market needs. In addition, Spectrum is able to advise Principals on the business situation, the types of products and product features required to make it successful. Spectrum, as a Value-Added Distributor, is an invaluable input into the Principal's pricing and marketing approach, and strategy towards the regions represented by Spectrum.
Value-Added Services
Spectrum will work with its resellers to identify business opportunities and will provide engineering resources to assist with network designs, through its Pre-Sales Engineers and Network Consultancy team. Optimum network designs, with built in redundancy, can be presented to the satisfaction of the customer. Spectrum, being a distributor for networking and its complementary products, can then leverage on a total business solution package with the reseller or customer, without them needing to engage several different parties.
Product Training
Technical product training and engineer certification will be conducted by the Principal. Spectrum would assist the Principals to identify key reseller engineers, who need to be trained and certified, to ensure that an appropriate level of technical know-how would be available for customer support.
